Paying tribute to Bryan Robson

Bryan Robson was one of the toughest players to ever step onto a football pitch.
The former Manchester United captain was an inspirational leader and born winner, the sort of man who'd routinely go the extra mile and yet, despite a Herculean effort, still feel as though he could have given more.
On numerous occasions, Robbo took games by the scruff of the neck and dragged United over the line to earn valuable points or secure memorable cup wins.
Now, Bryan faces a challenge of another type. This Wednesday 17 October he leaves Manchester on a flight bound for Tanzania, where he'll tackle the highest free-standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro.
Robbo would probably do something like this for the sheer thrill of it, but his seven-day trek is actually in aid of the Manchester United Foundation charity.

And to celebrate Bryan's outstanding career, we're turning the spotlight on him this week with a series of articles that will prove, if you didn't already believe it, that Bryan Robson is truly worthy of his Captain Marvel nickname. Enjoy.
